About the NAJCC

The NAJCC was founded in 1921 for the purpose of offering civic and social opportunities for young professionals in the Nashville area. As the organization evolved, these opportunities changed and adapted accordingly. Despite the variations in events, one core tenet remains constant: NAJCC opportunities enable members to engage in hands-on professional development & leadership training experiences that are unparalleled.

The programs and services of the NAJCC fall into four main areas.

  • Leadership Development programs
  • Networking – professional and social
  • Philanthropy – large events and monthly service projects
  • Professional Development

These four areas, each a critical leg of the organization, provide our membership with a variety of options and opportunities to get involved in the NAJCC and the Nashville community.  In each of the areas we have a number of activities, events and opportunities for leadership.

With the commitment to promote each of these three important dimensions– personal development, professional development and community development – the NAJCC is truly focused on supporting each of our members in finding their passion and making a contribution.

NETWORKING

In the networking program, individuals are put into a business casual environment with a targeted audience of like-minded young professionals. The goal of the NAJCC networking events is to support, guide and mentor Nashville's young professionals and provide members with the opportunity to establish networking contacts that will be valuable throughout their professional careers. These events are planned to be fun, while allowing professionals a chance to mix and mingle.

These events include:

  • Monthly Social Mixers
  • Cultural and Fun Events
  • Networking Mix and Mingles
  • Speed Networking
  • Trivia Networking
  • Networking Round-tables
  • Networking Golf Tournament- "Networking on the Green"

These mixers and events are planned to offer businesses and individuals the opportunities to make contacts and build a referral and client portfolio. These events let members practice networking skills in a comfortable environment, while still learning about products and services available to Nashville residents and businesses. These events also allow Nashville businesses to showcase their products and services by providing sponsorship opportunities. These opportunities included event sponsorships and booth packages. The NAJCC networking events create an opportunity for members to develop professional relationships with other professional organizations in the Nashville Area.

PHILANTHROPY / CHARITIES

The NAJCC Philanthropy Committee provides resources (both manpower and/or fundraising) to other not-for-profit organizations in the Nashville area and provides leadership opportunities to the membership of NAJCC. The committee supports and administrates the major philanthropy events sponsored by the NAJCC.

These events are:

  • Ragin’ Cajun Crawfish Boil
  • The Joy of Giving
  • Predator's Cup
  • Country Music Marathon
  • Special Olympics
  • Partnership with Hands on Nashville

Along with these events, the committee supports the membership in pursuing other community based volunteering. Learn more

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

If you take a poll around the NAJCC, there are a number of things you will hear from members regarding why they joined the organization.  Some will say to meet people, others will mention the charity work that we do and others will comment on the fact that they are looking for an organization in which they are surrounded by individuals just like them -mid-level employees of various companies throughout Nashville.  The goal of the Professional Development arm of the NAJCC Board is to give our members knowledge on how to become the employees and individuals that are valuable to companies.  We want to put together programs that are informative, but also full of educational knowledge so that our members feel empowered to ask for the promotion or seek a new position knowing that you have gained additional knowledge on how to be better sales people, engineers or any one of over 300 different positions that our members hold.

There are several main events that the Professional Development team puts together. We try to hold at least one professional development program/event each month. Learn more
